How to Throw a Great Lingerie Party

There are several things that you can do to ensure that your lingerie party is a great success. As a Hostess it is important that you put a little effort into your party, not only so your guests have a great time, but also so you make the most of the Hostess Rewards.

Wish List

Firstly work out exactly what it is that you wish to earn for free or at a discount. Make yourself a 'Wish List' of everything that takes your fancy, even if you think that you could never afford it all if you were to buy it at the full retail price. Remember, the Hostess Rewards are there to help you earn it at a discounted price or even receive it complimentary from the company.

Invites

It is really important to send out your invites as early as you can so your friends don't make other arrangements. When choosing your party date don't try and find a date to suit everyone as this is often impossible. Pick a date with your consultant that suits the both of you and then if any of your guests can't make it they can still order or they may want to book their own party, which of course will benefit you with extra discounted items. You can, of course, book another party date, which will earn you the extra Hostess Reward, and will also give your friends who missed out the opportunity to come. Plus you will earn the Hostess Rewards all over again! It can be tempting to send out a general invitation via Facebook instead of posting the invites. By all means create an 'Events' page for your party but it does help to send out the invites in the mail. In a world of emails and text messages it is nice to receive something in the mail, particularly something other than a bill, and it does make people feel special to receive individual invitations rather than just a group email.

Food

Don't go overboard when it comes to preparing food. You will find that your guests won't eat much anyway and people won't be tempted to book themselves if it looks like hosting a party takes a lot of effort. Simple snacks are best and either tea and coffee or a glass of bubbles is fine. Food can also be a distraction from the products and can also make the party longer than necessary, which doesn't help your bookings.

Numbers

Always over invite as it is inevitable that some people won't be able to come. The general rule is invite 25 people to get a party of 10. If you are struggling with numbers then ask your guests to bring a friend or family member along. Ask your consultant to help you with this who can possibly offer some sort of raffle prize for those guests who invite along someone new. You might also prefer a more intimate gathering and your consultant is likely to be happy to do a personal fitting for you and a couple of friends.

Outside orders

Anyone who can't come can always place an order so don't forget to show them the catalogue or direct them to the company website. These sales will all count towards your total, which increases your amount of Hostess Rewards.

Bookings

As well as getting bookings on the day anyone who can't make it might like to host their own party so always suggest this to them. If you are enthusiastic about the product and genuinely want to share it with your friends there is no reason you shouldn't share the product, plus you are giving your friend the opportunity to get their own lingerie wardrobe sorted out for free!

The Business

A good consultant will always talk about the Business Opportunity at your party. This might be something you want to consider for yourself or you might have a friend looking for a change, extra income or something to get them out of the house and have some time away from the kids. If you have a business lead for your consultant it is likely they will reward you for it.

Relax

On the evening or day of your party don't forget to relax! If you have kept things simple and given your guests a quick reminder call, then you can be happy knowing that your party will run smoothly and you can look at enjoying yourself and earning some great bras and underwear for free!

10 Reasons To Have a Professional Bra Fitting

The statistics are out! Approximately 85% of women are wearing the wrong size bra! That's a lot of women who are uncomfortable, who are getting no support whatsoever from their bra and who are denying themselves the opportunity to look truly fantastic in their outerwear.
A bra is not 'just a bra'. A bra should support, lift and shape your body. It should help elongate your torso and should give you the appearance of looking trimmer. It should also be the foundation for your fashion. As well as controlling the 'vertical movement' (studies done by The Australian Institute of Sport have concluded that breasts can rise and fall anywhere between 8 and 18 centimetres during sport, depending on their size), there are many other reasons you must be regularly fitted for this very important piece of clothing. Here are 10 reasons why you need to call a professional bra fitter: -

Support
You need to be in the right size bra so that you are getting proper support. The mid-line of your breasts (where the nipple is) should be sitting half way between your shoulder and your elbow. Having the right support is especially important while you are playing sport and even doing everyday things like doing the housework or gardening. Your bra shouldn't ride up, you should not have to continuously pull it down and the straps should stay comfortably in place. You should also feel that any vertical movement (or bounce) is minimised.
Stop breast tissue damage
There are many reasons that breast tissue damage occurs. Being in the wrong size bra is one of them. We need to care for our breasts by doing regular breast checks, but also it is important to wear a well fitting bra. Other reasons breast tissue damage can occur is because of sudden weight gain or weight loss, being pregnant, through breast feeding or not being properly supported while playing sport or being active.

Foundation for your fashion
When you are wearing a properly fitted bra you create a fantastic foundation for your fashion, meaning your clothes hang properly and look great on. If you are wearing the wrong size bra you can sometimes appear larger, or it can create the illusion of extra tummy. By wearing the right size bra you will help elongate the appearance of your torso, which as well as giving you a trimmer look, will make your outerwear look that much better.

Two instead of four
This goes without saying. You should have two well defined breasts (unless you are wearing a sports bra and you will have the 'single bump!'). All your breast tissue should be within the cup, with none of it spilling out the sides or over the top to give the illusion of extra boob!

The dreaded back fat
Depending on the bra, you can help flatten out the 'dreaded back fat' by wearing a bra with a wider belt. I have a fantastic bra called the Sophisticates bra that can do this for you, plus it is the perfect bra to wear under shirts and jumpers, now that the weather is cooling off.

Welts and bra flinging
Stop the welts and the bra flinging. If you get to the end of the day and end up with nasty red welts over your shoulders or around your middle then you need to be properly fitted for a new bra. The other sign of disgust in your current bra is when you fling it off in relief at the end of the day. You should be able to wear your bra all day without really feeling it.

The changing body
It is important to be fitted regularly, at least every 12 months or so, as everyone's body changes over time. You might lose a bit of weight or put some on. You might need a different bra for that time of the month if you notice a change in size. Being pregnant means you will need something without underwire, and you could go up a few sizes during the course of your pregnancy. There are also maternity bras available for once you are feeding and specialist bras for those who have undergone surgery and are wearing a prosthesis.

Individual needs
You need to have more than one bra in your 'lingerie wardrobe'. Not only should you be washing your bras after about two days wear, you will also need different bras to accommodate your different needs. If you play sport then you will need an Active bra or Crossback sports bra. If you have a bigger bust an Active bra is handy when doing housework, gardening or when you are that bit more active. A Convertible bra is essential during summer if you wear strapless or halter neck dresses. You might need something more plunging, such as the Plunge bra, if you have a lower cut dress that you wear out in the evenings. T-shirt bras or Contour bras are perfect for everyday and to wear under t-shirts or tighter tops. These also eliminate any nipple showing through. You might also want to have a look at the Private Collection or Boutique range for that something a little more sexy or pretty for that special occasion. Don't limit yourself to just one bra! As I always say...Life is too short to wear boring underwear!

The right size from the start
If you have a teenage daughter, niece, cousin, sister or friend it is really important that they are in the right fitting bra right from the start. Often it can be hard to drag a self conscious teenage girl along for a bra fitting so contact me and arrange to have her fitted in the privacy of your home. Good habits should start young to avoid a lifetime of uncomfortable bras and potential breast tissue damage.

Spoil Yourself
Women are busy creatures and often put themselves last. As the natural nurturer of the household we usually make sure everyone else is taken care of before we worry about ourselves. Here is the perfect chance to really spoil yourself and get some gorgeous bras and lounge wear complimentary of a fantastic company. Get some girls together, have a few glasses of bubbles and get yourself properly fitted and into some beautiful bras!

Welcome

Welcome to The Lingerie Files, a blog about all things lingerie and anything and everything to do with women.  As well as having a bit of fun this blog will help educate, titillate (!) and bring to the fore issues relating to all things 'girl power'.
While running my own party plan business for the past three months, and selling the most beautiful lingerie, I have been introduced to the fabulous world of women within a fantastic company. To discover so many with the 'can do' attitude and knowing that I can achieve the same has been both enpowering and exciting.  As a stay-at-home mum I am now leaping out of bed in the morning with a strong sense of purpose, one that is fueled by the knowledge that I am changing the outcome for my family into a positive and fulfilled one.  As well as providing an extra income I am also providing my husband and children with a better wife, a better mother and a stronger, more positive person.  I know I can make a difference to their lives and the lives of people around me.
The last few months have been a journey.  Not only have I discovered things about myself but I have found that the truth really is out there and that all it takes is a bit of exploration.  I have also been shown that life really is what you make it and you should always look for the solution to every problem.  Stepping outside of your comfort zone is one of the greatest things you can do for yourself and will change your life forever! Continue to do it every day and the rewards will take your breath away.  Since starting in this business I have learnt so much and grown as a person, all because I took that step outside of where I was comfortable.
Look at everything as an opportunity and ask what is good about the situation.  Do this and you can turn anything to your advantage.  Have faith in yourself and remember this...
